Carolina Hortian and the Chattanooga Mocs get the spring portion of the schedule started this weekend at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invite.

CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team heads to the tee Friday at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational. The 3-day, 54-hole event is played at the Great Waters Course in Eatonton, Ga.
This is the fourth year of the event with Chattanooga involved every season. Three of those are beginning spring play. It's the fifth straight season playing in an event at Reynolds Lake Oconee with the 2018 edition being an individual tourney.
Coach Colette Murray's starting lineup includes Esme Hamilton, Megan Docherty, Carolina Hortian and Dorota Zalewska. Zalewska leads the squad with a 71.25 stroke average.
The junior from Poland is even par over 12 rounds thus far. She's a stroke per round better than fellow junior Esme Hamilton's 72.25. The duo – Zalewska 3 & Hamilton 2 – combined for five top 10s and three top 5s – Zalewska 2 & Hamilton 1 – during the four fall events.
The freshmen duo of Docherty (76.50) and Hortian (75.33) look to build on promising starts. The international student-athletes from Scotland and Spain; respectively, managed the transition to collegiate play with highlights through each of the fall quartet of tournaments.
It begins Friday morning at 10:54 a.m., off the first tee. Hamilton starts the Mocs off followed in 9-minute increments by Docherty, Hortian and Zalewska. The squad is paired with North Florida and Georgia Southern.
