EATONTON, Ga.---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team had a tough day two at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invite. The quartet shot 314 over the second of three rounds on the Great Waters Course on what proved to be a difficult scoring day across the 80-player field.
Â
That dropped the Mocs from a tie for second into a 3-way tie for seventh at 611 with Rutgers and Tulane.
Esme Hamilton led the way again today with a 3-over 75.
Dorota Zalewska had 77 followed by
Megan Docherty and
Carolina Hortian with 79 and 83, respectively.
"It was a rough day for the Mocs," said Coach
Colette Murray. "Our situation makes days like these even harder than normal. We hope to close out the tournament with a good round."
Â
Hamilton is in third with a 2-over total of 146. That's three off the lead set by Georgia Southern's Kaysie Harrelson who is playing this week as an individual. North Florida's Mindy Herrick is second with level-par 144. Zalewska is tied for 14th at 150 looking for her fourth top 10 in five starts this season.
Â
UNF holds the lead at 595. The Ospreys are two ahead of ETSU in second and eight clear of first round leader Delaware which is tied for this with Florida Atlantic at 603.
Â
Sunday's final 18 is a 10 a.m., shotgun start for the field. The Mocs are paired with Rutgers and Tulane beginning on holes 7-10.
