SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After rain caused the match to be suspended on Friday evening, the Chattanooga Mocs eventually picked up a key 5-2 decision over Southern Conference foe Wofford on Saturday afternoon at the Reeves Tennis Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
 
Following the win, Chattanooga improves to a perfect 2-0 in SoCon play while upping its overall record to 4-11. Wofford moves to 6-10 overall and 1-2 in league action after the defeat.
 
"I'm really proud of these guys picking up such a solid road win stretched over two days," said head coach Chuck Merzbacher.
 
"This was a team win as everybody made contributions that helped us grind out the win."
 
Tomas Rodriguez returned to action following an injury and helped pick up the doubles-clinching point with partner Peyton Gatti behind a 6-4 victory in the No. 1 slot. Kerim Hyatt, Simon Labbe, Jordan McClure and Ryan Mudre all secured wins in singles action with McClure earning his in tie-break fashion.
 
Chattanooga returns to action tomorrow, Sunday March 20, when it faces Furman in conference play at 10 a.m. ET. The match will be held at a neutral site, the Reeves Tennis Center on the campus of Wofford. All match coverage links will be posted on the schedule page, when available.
