CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- Saturday was a shorter day for the Mocs who battled unseasonable weather over two days at the Lee University Flames Invitational.
Â
"We had a challenging weather weekend," Mocs head coach
Andy Meyer said. "As everyone in the area knows it was cold and windy raining at times, sleeting at times; snowing at times and all three together at times. We were proud how the kids fought though the conditions and still found it in themselves to get even better and in cases run faster than they ever have."
Â
Gracie Morse ran her second hurdles race over the weekend, placing 10
th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.17.
Â
The only other race of the day for UTC was the men's 800 meter run with both posting times under 2:00 in the first race for either runner.
Kaigen Mulkey ran the middle distance race in a time of 1:58.91 while
Eammon O'Bryant posted a time of 1:59.53.

The Mocs posted several PRs Friday night and many ran their distance for the first time as a college athlete.
Â
"Faith, Allie, Justine and Lesley had great races Friday night," Meyer said. "They suffered through sideways rain and wind to personnel or season bests. The guys, like the ladies, were able to find a way to run outstanding times/placing. Aaron, Jonathan, Jasper, Kaigen, Eammon and Eric all had wonderful times."

"I'm amazed at the job Coaches Griffin and Gadson did in keeping the kids focused on what they could control," Meyer said. "No matter the race or conditions our kids keep improving their times and become more competitive with each and every race.
Â
"Each time we think the kids have maxed out, they find a way to go faster. I'm amazed by the heart and determination of this team."
