Cross Country Previews NCAA Course at UNA Showcase

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga men's and women's cross country teams return to action this Friday for the North Alabama Showcase in Huntsville, Ala. The race is also known as the NCAA South Region Preview Meet as it is run on the same course where the championships will be hosted in November.

"We are happy to be back racing this Friday," Chattanooga head coach Andy Meyer said. The John Hunt Cross Country Park is an excellent facility and UNA does a fantastic job of conducting such a high-level meet."

The meet will feature many of the ranked teams in the region who will be there to get a feel for the course.

"Overall, it is one of the most competitive meets of the year," Meyer said. "It will be a challenge for the kids. The course is fairly fast with a couple hills and a very fast finishing straight."

The men's 8-kilometer race will begin at 9:15 a.m. Eastern time. The women's 5k race will follow.

NOTES:
- Huntsville is located in the Central Time Zone. Times posted on the UTC website are always referencing Eastern time.
- This course will be the same course that will host the NCAA South Region Championships in November.
- This is the second consecutive year the South Region meet will be held in Huntsville at this course.
