CaMiron Smith represents the Chattanooga Mocs on the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team.

CHATTANOOGA---CaMiron Smith had quite a career for the Chattanooga Mocs. He started for nearly five seasons at cornerback, ranked consistently among the leaders in passes defended and took full advantage of his collegiate opportunity.
 
Smith earned his Psychology degree in December 2021 as a Latin Honors Candidate. He spent 2022 working in a post-baccalaureate program to decide where his graduate work would lie. He also continued to excel as a student recently being named one of 53 on the FCS Athletics Director's Association Academic All-Star Team.
 
It's the second straight year Smith earned the honor. He's also a 2-time CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District selection. He was joined by Samford linebacker Nathan East as the only representatives from the Southern Conference.
 
Smith is the sixth to earn the award twice at Chattanooga. He joins Joel Bradford (2010, 2011), Adam Miller (2012, 2013), Davis Tull (213, 2014), Derrick Craine (2015, 2016) and Cole Strange (2020-21, 2021). There have been 18 all-time picks from the Chattanooga program in the 25 years of it's been announced.
 
Football players from all Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) institutions are eligible for the award. Requirements:
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate or graduate study
  • Starter or key player with legitimate athletics credentials
  • Reached second year of athletics and academic standing at the nominated institution
  • Completed minimum of one full academic year at the nominated institution
  • Participated in 50 percent of the games played at their designated position
  • No more than two student-athletes from any school are nominated for the prestigious honor
