Postgame Quotes

Dan Earl, Head Coach
Opening statement after 85-80 loss to Wofford.
"Another tough loss, credit to Wofford. They made plays down the stretch when they needed to, and we couldn't get stops. We had a few costly turnovers in the last four, five minutes of the game. I thought our guys did compete. We had some stretches where we didn't execute on offense and score the ball, but for the most part, we were competing. We just could not get stops. It was another frustrating loss, but I told the guys to keep their head high. There's a lot of season left and we need to turn it around."

On not getting defensive stops.
"I thought that was the biggest thing. They made some big plays. We had some costly turnovers when we really needed to take care of the ball. I don't think it was a lack of fight, but we have to be tougher to get those crucial stops on defense."

On who stood out.
"Jamal Johnson shot the ball well which helped. Khristion Courseault got downhill several times and got the ball to the basket. A couple other guys chipped in with some points. We have to continue to be aggressive and drive the ball to make teams foul us and allow us to kick the ball out. I thought we did a better job of that tonight, particularly in the second half, we just weren't able to close the gap."

Khristion Courseault, Jr., G
On stepping up with Jake Stephens being sidelined.
"I think that everyone has done a good job stepping up in his absence, we're missing a lot with him being out. Everyone is doing a good job picking it up. We just need to get stops down the stretch. Hopefully, we can continue the offensive efficiency and move forward."

On defensive effort.
"At the end of the day, we just have to do what we do defensively. We have to do whatever it takes to get that stop. I feel like we're a good defensive team and we're able to get those stops. I feel like every game comes down to that one stop, so we're excited to try and get one on Saturday."
