Soccer Hosts Wofford Thursday in Regular Season Home Finale

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga soccer team will host Wofford Thursday evening at Finley Stadium to close out the home portion of the regular season schedule.

CHATTANOOGA vs. WOFFORD
The Terriers lead the series 16-9-5, however the Mocs are 7-1-2 against Wofford in the last 10 meetings. In Chattanooga the Mocs trail in the series 5-6-4.
 
LAST TIME THEY MET
After falling to the Terriers in the regular season, the Mocs beat Wofford 2-1 in the quarterfinal round of the Southern Conference Tournament one week later. Caroline Richvalsky put the Mocs on the board in the 15th minute and Birna Johannsdottir's insurance goal in the 67th turned out to be the game winner. Wofford got on the board with just over two minutes to play. Caroline Ekern had just one save in the match behind a strong Chattanooga defense that only allowed six shots by the Terriers.
 
ABOUT CHATTANOOGA (9-4-1, 3-2-1 SoCon)
UTC is currently tied with Mercer for fourth in the SoCon standings. The Mocs beat VMI on Senior Day with their third shutout of the season. The Mocs have outscored their opponents 23-14 and average 17.0 shots per game. Caroline Richvalsky is tied with Birna Johannsdottir for the team lead in scoring with 15 points each. Richvalsky has a team-best six goals, fifth in the SoCon and leads the league with 4.43 shots per game. Johannsdottir's team-leading seven assists is third in the SoCon. Caroline Ekern  has a 1.169 goals-against average, 4.0 saves per game and a .776 saves percentage.
 
ABOUT WOFFORD (4-9-2, 2-4 SoCon)
The Terriers are eighth in the SoCon standings. Wofford's two SoCon wins are against VMI and UNC Greensboro. The Terriers have 14 goals on the season and average 10.8 shots per game. Ines Obradovac leads the team with 10 points on five goals and three assists. Megan Childress has three goals and one assist for seven points. Caroline Doss has started 11 games and a 1.86 goals against average with one shutout. Rylee Godbold has made for starts in eight games played with a 2.74 goals-against average.
