Postgame Quotes

Dan Earl, Head Coach
Overall statement after 85-77 (OT) loss to Evansville.
"Obviously, a tough game. One of those games you see it happen, when we go up 20, you could feel the momentum was tangible and it was going their way. We couldn't get stops nor execute on offense. It was a very difficult game. This is something we have to learn from."
Â
On shift of momentum.
"Things happen that way sometimes. You have to control what you're able to control, and you never know when a turnover makes a difference, or a loose ball, or switching properly, a defensive assignment. You have to do everything in your power to do it the right way. That was one of those games where we needed one more stop, one more made shot, to win that game and erase the momentum."
Â
On what mattered most.
"You never know when the big play matters. You have a tendency when you go up big, you tend to not think the little things are that important. You have to do the right thing, make the tough play, every single possession. As long as we're playing the game the right way, and I didn't know if we didn't, every possession matters."
Honor Huff, So.-G
On what caused the snowball.
"We kind of got complacent and that's something we preach not to do. Especially with that much time. We took our foot off the gas with 11 or so minutes left to play. We got a little bit too excited to be up in that situation and took a step back."
Â
On the overall message.
"I said in the locker room, we weren't going undefeated. You're going to take some on the chin, and you'd rather not, especially this early and in this way, but it's time to take it, learn from it and not let it happen again. We'll put it past us and continue to move."
