Dan Earl, Head Coach
Overall thoughts after 88-72 win at Alabama A&M.
"A lot of people impacted the game. Credit to Alabama A&M. They are a hard-playing group who can get downhill. They force you to foul them and that was our biggest key. You had to pack it in and be strong with the ball. I thought in the opening minutes of the second half, I think we did a good job of executing and opened the lead a little bit."
Â
On taking care of the ball.
"They have a bunch of athletic, wiry, strong guys who can knock balls loose. I thought we did a pretty good job of taking care of the ball, most of the time, and that's what we preach to the guys about. At times, when we're making the extra pass, playing the right way, moving the ball, we look like a really good team. Then at times, we look like we're making the game harder than it needs to be. That's a part of growth for us moving forward."
Â
On the return of Trey Bonham.
"Even though he's been around college basketball for a while, you get amped up and you want to be successful. I thought he looked good, maybe initially he was trying a bit too hard. He's a smart basketball player, and overall, I thought he got into the defense and kicked it out multiple times, he made a three, I thought it was an overall good game and he's capable of playing even better."

On returning to action as two-time transfer rules have swayed.
"I was extremely excited to get out there with my guys. Two days ago, I thought I wasn't going to be playing until August. It felt a little weird, and I've been preparing to play, but nothing can really mimic the in-game feelings."
Â
On knocking down first shot (a three) in a UTC uniform.
"That felt good. I've been preparing for that moment, and it came a little quicker than I thought, but it felt good to see that first one go down."
