Postgame Quotes

Dan Earl, Head Coach
Overall thoughts after 69-66 win over Gardner-Webb.
"It was a very tough game for us. I thought we played as badly as we could have played for 'x' number of minutes. When we share the ball, we lock in defensively and talk. We're a good basketball team. I'm proud of the guys for pulling this out, sticking with it, and I think it shows fibers that they didn't quit and kept battling. Credit it to Gardner-Webb, they gave us problems all night. Hopefully we can learn from a win and I'm proud of the guy's fight."

On Trey Bonham's play over two games.
"You see him play, he's a very good player, but we forget a lot of the time that we're all human beings. There are some nerves there under the bright lights and it takes getting used to being with new teammates. I mean that as a compliment because he's going to bring us a lot more moving forward. He kept fighting tonight and we're happy to have him."

On Jan Zidek's efforts tonight.
"Jan was really good tonight. He's a matchup problem often for other teams, but we haven't really figured out the forward position on our side. But he was playing within himself, stretching the floor, making threes, that adds a dynamic level to our offense. He played a solid game through-and-through. We're happy to have him. I need to do a better job of figuring out lineups moving forward and we're in the process of doing that."

Trey Bonham, Sr.-G
On what set up the shot.
"There were two huge plays before that. Jan [Zidek] dropped to the basket and then Tyler [Millin] making that corner three. It all set up that last shot."

On creating the shot.
"I just wanted to come off, catch it clean, and try to get off a good look. I [chucking] knew it was good as soon as it left my hand."

On the last week of NCAA rule chaos.
"It's been crazy. Craziest week of my life, seriously. I thought I wasn't going to play, then I wasn't, and on a whole, I thought I wouldn't be playing again until August. It's been a ride, but I'm extremely excited to be playing again."
