Postgame Quotes

Dan Earl, Head Coach
Opening statement after 93-76 loss to UNCG.
"It was a very tough outing, it wasn't our finest hour. Credit to UNCG, they were the tougher team. They took us out of things on both sides of the ball. Offensively, it seemed like they could just go where they want. It was a struggle. I kept telling the guys that they have to do both. That means boxing out and then going and getting the rebound. I feel like we're always doing one thing and just not the other. We have a lot to learn from and it was a tough outing, but credit to UNCG."

On what worked for UNCG offense.
"They set a ton of ball screens and they did a really good job of keeping us on their hip and letting their bigs dive. We have to be more physical on the ball and the weak side has to come out and help as well. It was with almost little resistance today and it was tough."

On impact on both sides of the floor.
"We're asking the guys to impact the game in other ways, not just scoring. We want to move the ball and take good shots, but you have to know who the hot hand is so you're trying to get them in the flow of the offense. We want to move the ball and take good shots."

Jamal Johnson, Gr.-G
On what went wrong.
"It's hard. The last three games, we were focused on our defensive presence and we executed that well. We just didn't have the right energy today. They're big and strong. It was hard matching their physicality. Credit to them, they're tough."

On the physicality of UNCG.
"It's noticeable. They're ducking in hard, we're fouling almost every possession. When they play those two bigs and our bigs are in foul trouble, it's hard to match it. We have to step up."
