WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD HEADED TO UAB INVITE FRIDAY, SATURDAY

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's outdoor track and field team will head to Birmingham, Ala., this weekend for the UAB Spring Invite at the UAB Track and Field Complex.

"We are looking forward to competing this weekend over at UAB. Coach Thomas puts on a great meet," Mocs head coach Andy Meyer said. "The facilities are very impressive, and the track is new, so it is fast, and the kids love the surface."

The Mocs will open up with Lexi Foley, Emma Russum and Maddie Wheatcroft the women's 1500 meter run Friday at 5:30 p.m. Eastern time. Faith Brown and Julianna McReynolds will compete in the 3000 meter Steeplechase.

The evenings events will conclude with the 5000 meter run with Leah Boyd, Andrea Ellis, Camden Morris and Emily Naylor.

Saturday's events will begin at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time with the 4x100 meter relay. That will be followed by the 100 meter hurdles with Reagan Ruth, the 400 meter dash with Jessika Rennich. Imani Bryant will run the 100 meter dash next with Foley, Wheatcroft and Sydney Cansler in the 800 meter run.

Ruth and Sarah Unterholzner will run the 400 meter hurdles. Bryant returns for the 200 meter dash and the meet will conclude with the 4x400 meter relay.

"We will be focusing on improvement over last week at Lee," Meyer said. "We need to get out of the blocks a little faster, make our hand-offs a little cleaner, hold pace a little longer and finish stronger. This meet provides ample opportunities against quality competition."
