CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team earned a 5-2 victory over Kennesaw State to find itself back in the win column on a beautiful Saturday afternoon outside at the UTC Tennis Center.
 
Following the win, Chattanooga improves to 8-3 on the season and 2-2 all-time against KSU. Kennesaw State drops to 6-2 after the defeat.
 
"This was another big win for the program. We have a ton of respect for KSU and how talented they are," said head coach Chuck Merzbacher.
 
"Again, the guys are playing well as a team. The doubles point was huge as Ryan [Mudre] and Jordan [McClure] played flawless at No. 3 and No. 2 did their work and competed very well.
 
"Across the board in singles, we won important sets to establish the lead. Gabe [Castillo] got to clinch after Peyton [Gatti] set up the lead. It was a team win and I'm so proud of these kids," added Merzbacher.
 
Chattanooga (8-3) bounces back with a quick 11 a.m. ET matchup against Troy tomorrow, Sunday, March 5, at the UTC Tennis Center. Live stats will be available and can be found at GoMocs.com.
