CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 non-conference defeat to Troy on a sunny Sunday afternoon outdoors at the UTC Tennis Center on campus.
 
Following the loss, Chattanooga falls to 8-4 overall on the season. Troy improves to 10-2 after the victory.
 
"Hats off to Troy today," said head coach Chuck Merzbacher. "The doubles point came down to a tie breaker at No. 2 and we just didn't get it.
 
"Gabe [Castillo] held down the No. 3 spot and really had a nice weekend. Cortland [Grove] came in and did a great job holding down the No. 6 position.
 
"This weekend we played two very strong opponents and these kids competed so hard all weekend. They left it out there and really that's all we can ask. I'm very proud of their toughness out there," concluded Merzbacher.
