Women's Tennis Earns Eighth-Straight Victory After Defeating Troy 5-2 on Sunday

The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team is on its longest win streak since 2015 after picking up its eight in-a-row.

CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team made it eight-straight wins following a 5-2 victory over Troy on the road at the Lunsford Tennis Complex in Troy, Ala., on Sunday afternoon.

Following the win, Chattanooga improves to 10-1 on the season. Troy falls to 7-2 on the year after the defeat.

"Huge weekend for the ladies," said head coach Chad Camper. "Playing on the road has its difficulties and the team really came together.

"Doubles point is always important and Nicole Abel and Caroline Gibbens brought us to the victory. Rozalie [Dohnalova] is getting better from her injury and really won a great match at No. 6.

"Lucia [Garrigues-Melendez] just fights and when she gets going, her fight really brings the team together against these good programs," added Camper.

Chattanooga (10-1) returns to action on Saturday, March 11, against Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn. Match is set for 12 p.m. ET. All match coverage links, if available, will be located on the schedule page.
