Carolina Hortian and the Chattanooga Mocs open Southern Conference Championship play Sunday in Hilton Head.

CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team starts postseason play Sunday at the Southern Conference Championships. This year's event returns to an old friend, Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C.

The ladies tackle the club for the ninth time. The Mocs were runners-up in 2009 on the North Course before five consecutive titles from 2010-14 before the league caravan tried a few new spots. This is the third time on the South side with the good gals tying for second in 2018 and 2019.

While the Mocs obviously have a good plan for the layout on either side of the club's equator, there's only one in the group with experience there as senior Dorota Zalewska finished 36th as a freshman in 2019. All six squad members are on the trip with Zalewska joined by Kera Healey, Carolina Hortian, Megan Docherty and Isabella Yu Lee expected to start. Nieves Martin is there in reserve with lineup substitutions now allowed prior to the start of a round.

The 54-hole event is played with 18 holes per day starting Sunday and ending with champions hailed Tuesday afternoon. Links to pairings and live scoring, when available, are above along with a comprehensive notes package.

Seven Mocs are SoCon Medalists including defending champ Dorota Zalewska. More on pages 3 & 4 of the notes package.
Zalewska has two wins, two runners-up, seven top 5, 13 top 10 & 19 top 20 finishes in her last 23 events.
Kera Healey posted five par or better cards in her first nine spring rounds with a top 10 and three top 20s. She earned SoCon Golfer of the Month in March.
