Track Closes Regular Season at Georgia Tech

Imani Bryant ran the 200 meter dash Saturday at Georgia Tech and anchored the 4x100 meter relay.
ATLANTA, Ga. ---
Senior Imani Bryant ran her second fastest time of the season in the women's 200 meter dash and sophomore transfer Sarah Unterholzner posted a season-high in the 400 meter hurdles.

"Imani continued with her impressive weekend," Chattanooga head coach Andy Meyer said. "Sarah ran well, dropping her time again."

Bryant ran the short track in a time of 26.58, second in her heat and ahead of a trio of Mercer runners and a pair from Western Carolina. Unterholzner finished her race at 1:05.79 with a Catamount and Bear behind her in the standings.

Freshman Lexi Foley ran the 800 meter in a time of 2:30.33, just seconds off her personal best.

The day started with the women's 4x100 meter relay  with a time of 53.48 and ended with the 4x400 posting a time of 4:42.41. Jessika Rennich led off both races for the Mocs. Unterholzner was the second leg of the 4x100 relay handing off to Reagan Ruth and Bryant at anchor.

Rennich handed off to senior Emmy Davis in the longer relay followed by Allie Potter and Andrea Davis on the fourth leg.

"The 4x100 started out the day on a solid note," Meyer said. "Our 4x4 finished off the meet running well.

"Overall, we had a very good weekend. The kids head into the conference meet with top form and fitness. We have a couple of weeks to fine tune things, but as this meet showed based on our performance, we don't have far to go."

The Southern Conference Championships will take place May 8-9 in Cullowhee, N.C.
