SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.---It was a frustrating day for Chattanooga Mocs graduate Dorota Zalewska '23 at the NCAA Championships. Her Saturday morning started off on No. 10 at Grayhawk Golf Cub in a rough way leading to a 5-over 77. That gives Zalewska a 2-day total of 153.

Her second shot on the par four 10th drifted left of the green with the hole cut in the front. It took a hard bounce left and down the slope into the greenside creek. A triple bogey ensued followed by a bogey on 11 and again on 13 had her 5 over through four holes.

Sho bounced back with a birdie on 14 after hitting it to around six feet from the hole. Three pars followed before birdie on 18 sent Zalewska to the front side at 3 over. Birdies proved elusive on holes 1-4 before bogeys on five and six. Birdie on seven looked to get her back on track before bogey on nine.

"I didn't play bad today," she shared after the round. "I had a triple that cost me three shots right away. But I was fighting to get it back, but it's just...putts are not falling.

"A bad shot costs you out here. I was trying to save some shots (with the putter), but it was just not working."

The 72-hole event moves on to Sunday's third round. Zalewska is in the afternoon wave teeing off at 4:32 p.m., Eastern time, off No. 10 again. There is a cut after 54 holes with the top 15 teams moving on as well as the top nine individuals not on those squads. The current line for top nine individual is even par with the afternoon wave still on the course.
