CHATTANOOGA---The 2023 football season is fast approaching for the Chattanooga Mocs. An exciting season is ahead including the 5-game home schedule at Finley Stadium. Here are a few things to know in advance of the season.
Chattanooga looks to build on its 7-win 2022 campaign. Sixteen of 25 starters return – eight offense, seven defense & one specialist – as well as 30 of the 44 on the position group 2-deep from a year ago. That includes two very notable from the preseason All-America teams coming out.
Â
Senior edge
Jay Person (Athlon, Bluebloods) and senior corner Kam Brown (Bluebloods) are among the top players at their respective positions. Person was the 2022 SoCon Defensive Player of the Year while finishing tied for eighth for the Buck Buchanan Award which recognizes the top FCS defender nationally.
