- Tonight's game marked the 32nd meeting all-time between Chattanooga and Mercer.
- After tonight's win, UTC now leads the all-time series 21-11.
- The Mocs also move to 11-3 all-time against Mercer when playing at home.
- This also was the Southern Conference opener for the Mocs.
- All-time, Chattanooga women's basketball is 36-7 when playing in their SoCon opener.
- The Mocs have won 13 of their last 14 Southern Conference openers dating back to the 2010-11 season.
- UTC has now won its last three matchups against the Bears.
- Coach Poppie has now won the SoCon opener in each of his first two seasons with the team.
- Coach Poppie also undefeated (3-0) against Mercer in his career.
- Starters: Porter, Guinn, Olafsdottir, Thompson and Murphy. This starting five now is now 11-2 on the year.
- Both Chattanooga and Mercer were selected to finish in the Top 4 of the SoCon in the Preseason Media and Coaches Polls.
- UTC was picked to finish first (coaches) and second (media), while Mercer was picked to finish third (coaches) and fourth (media).

- Jada Guinn has scored 10+ points in every game this season for the Mocs. She finished with 20.
- Raven Thompson was one rebound shy of her second consecutive double-double. She ended the night with 14 points and nine boards.
- Guinn and Thompson have now accounted for 506 of Chattanooga's 1,035 total points on the year (48.9 percent of team's scoring output).
- UTC shot 44.9 percent (22-for-49) from the floor on the night. The team has shot 40 percent or better from the field in 15 out of 16 games this season.
