Overall thoughts on 73-58 win over Furman.
"Overall it's nice to beat a good Furman team. I know they have some guys out with injury and are figuring some things out. I know they still have Foster out with a hip injury. I was really proud of our guys and I think we took a huge step forward with our unselfishness, that is playing the game the right way and competing hard particularly in that first half. Defensively I also thought we were really good too and we took good shots for the most part. Obviously if you were here for the whole game, we have some things to clean up down the stretch with taking care of the ball and everything, but hopefully we took a big step forward with those two things: moving the ball unselfishly and competing. Super proud of the guys, I thought everyone contributed in a positive way and it's nice to get back on the winning track."
On working with some unconventional lineups due to foul trouble and surviving a comeback attempt from Furman.
"I believe it was Evansville here earlier this year when we were up 20 with something like 12 minutes left or something like that and then the wheels just fell off, and you could feel a similar type of thing happening tonight. It was a combination of a couple things, really. Just some silly turnovers where we were trying to hit home run balls instead of just continuing to hit singles, and then we also just missed some shots. Sam (Alexis) has some good layups inside that he just kind of missed, Honor (Huff) had a good three that wouldn't go, just a couple of things where we started getting tight as a team. I think the guys that we had in there and the guys that eventually could get back on the court positively impacted the game."
On if that first half was the best half the team has played this season.
"I would say one of the best. It's weird, I think defensively it was maybe the best that we've played. Offensively it was right there. This might sound silly, but you're looking for little good signs as you go. Samford, who we just played, our first half offensively was really good where we were moving the ball and unselfish, so that was a step forward. Defensively they hit a bunch of threes and a couple guys made some big shots so you can't say it was good. There's been other good halves that we've had, particularly second halves. As you know we've gotten off to some slow starts in some games. For the most part, for a first half on both sides of the ball, that was one of the best if not the best half that we've had."

On wearing his face mask tonight.
"Man it was tough. It was sweaty, it was loose. It's getting better the more I play with it but it's hard. It is what it is, I gotta wear it since I broke my nose."
On stepping up as a senior leader tonight down the stretch.
"Like you said you just keep the guys in line and try to keep everyone focused. That's what I try to tell the young guys. Just stay level-headed, stay focused. They can come back just like that, that's college basketball especially nowadays."
