CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs led after 18 holes Monday at the Qubein Cup. The Mocs shot a season-best 284 (E) behind Camden Braidech's 66 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
 
That 66 was supported by Braedon Wear's 69. Braidech and Wear were 1-2 on the leaderboard at that point. Garrett Engle was one back of Wear with 70, while Ethan Whitaker was next with 75. Dalton Chuba's 82 was the drop score.
 
It gave Chattanooga an 8-stroke advantage over Nebraska in second. Michigan was in third, 11 back, followed by College of Charleston (292) and Furman (294) rounding out the top 5.
 
The second round was suspended due to darkness with a handful of holes remaining. The Mocs currently have a 6-shot lead over Nebraska with a couple of holes remaining in round two. Braidech leads individually at 2 under.
 
The field returns to complete the 18 Tuesday morning before beginning the final round.

Notes

• Mocs 70.00 average on the counting cards was +5.68 strokes better than the rest of field averaged over round one.
• Braidech's 66 is a season best for the sophomore transfer from Liberty. He's led the squad in four of seven rounds thus far.
• Wear's 1-under effort was his first par or better card of 2024-25. It was the 31st of his career.
• Chattanooga has six team wins and four medalists over the last two seasons. Looking for first in 2024-25.
