PREVIEW: Men’s Golf Eyes Long Postseason Run Beginning Monday in Texas

Ward Harris

Ward Harris and the Chattanooga Mocs are back in the NCAA Men’s Golf Tournament opening play Monday at the Bryan Regionals.

Overview
The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team returns to the tee Monday in NCAA postseason play once again. The Mocs are in Texas for the Bryan Regionals with 54 holes ahead three rounds of 18 ending on Wednesday afternoon. The top 5 teams and low individual not on an advancing squad move on to the NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calif.

It's the fifth straight NCAA appearance for the program. The team earned entry in 2023 (Auburn) and 2024 (San Diego) as well with individual berths in 2022 (Paul Conroy-Norman) and 2026 (Camden Braidech-Auburn).

This week's field tackles the Traditions Club in Bryan which is near College Station. There are 14 teams and five individuals eyeing the coveted trip to the San Diego area. All three rounds broadcast on Babygrande Golf via YouTube.

Quotable
"It's obviously been our goal to make it to postseason and see how far we can go. I'm really proud of the journey this young group took to get here. We definitely had our fair share of learning and growing pains, but I thought their outlook never changed and was always positive. We've done the work, they believe, and it's just about going out and doing our thing (in Bryan)." – Coach Blaine Woodruff on getting to this point

"It's been four years since I've been there so things can change a little bit, but it's a great golf course. It's demanding. You have to be really precise with your numbers and drive it well. It's Texas, so the wind blows pretty good. It really feels like the harder it gets, the tougher the conditions get, the better this group plays. I think it's a testament to how really gritty they are and how they fight for every shot and value every shot." – Woodruff on experience at the Traditions
