Giulia Foresta sits in the top five leading the Chattanooga Mocs into the final 18 at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate.
ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team is in sixth after 36 holes of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate. The Mocs shot 301 Monday at Cherokee Country Club and is just two behind Memphis in fifth and five shy of Tennessee in fourth.
"Today was a good day other than having to count a plus 8," Coach Colette Murray said. "The setup was a challenge with some tough pins out there. We have one more day to handle our business. We're hoping to take a strong finish into the off season.
Giulia Foresta had the low card again with 2-over 73. Violeta Fernandez-Tagle followed with 74 as Nieves Martin turned in 75. Kera Healey closed out the counting cards with 79 as Makenzie Cooper's 80 served as the drop score.
Foresta is tied for fifth with a total of 144, 2-over par. Fernandez-Tagle is just two behind her with 146 which has her tied for 14th in the jammed up leaderboard. Healey has 151 ahead of Cooper and Martin, both at 153.
Miami (Fla.) has a 2-shot lead heading into the final round. The pair of UCF and Campbell are in second ahead of the Vols, Tigers and Mocs. Campbell's Mira Berglund has the individual lead at 138.
Tomorrow's final 18 begins at 9:15 a.m. It's a shotgun starts with the Mocs starting on holes 4-7 along with Memphis and Tennessee.
