CHATTANOOGA---Twelve Chattanooga Mocs were honored in the annual All-Southern Conference voting by the coaches which the league announced late Tuesday afternoon. Six made the first team with four more aligned on the second. Two more came in on the All-Freshman squad.
 
The first team included three on both sides of the ball.

• Mocs on 1st Team Offense: RB Reggie Davis, WR Sam Phillips, C Reid Williams
• Mocs on 1st Team Defense: DB Josh Battle, DB Reuben Lowery III, DT Marlon Taylor

 
The second team quartet covered all three phases of the game:

• 2nd Team Offense: WR Javin Whatley
• 2nd Team Defense: DB Jordan Walker, DT Quay Wiggles
• 2nd Team Special Teams: K Jude Kelley

 
Of the group, nine are due back in 2025 with Lowery, Taylor and Wiggles the only seniors of the group. The other nine are all juniors. Two more made the freshman list, both on defense in defensive end Leroy Harris III and defensive back Beni Mwamba.
 
Of particular note, all 12 Mocs honorees were recruited out of high school with each of the first and second team guys spending four to six years in the program.
 
"All of those guys are very deserving," Coach Rusty Wright began. "I thought they all had good years, and it gives the ones coming back something to work towards again for next year. That includes someone who maybe feels overlooked.
 
"We believe in recruiting the high schools. We are a developmental program, and it shows because those guys played and put themselves in situations to be good players. They're all ones, we identified out of high school."
 
Notes

• Six on the first team tied Mercer for the most in the league. Furman and Western Carolina were next with four each.
• 10 total all-conference picks was second to Mercer's 13. ETSU, Furman and Western tied for third with six apiece.
• 12 total selections including freshmen was third behind Mercer (17) and Furman (14). The Paladins had eight on the all-freshman list.
