POSTGAME QUOTES
Dan Earl, Head Coach
On tonight's loss to Lipscomb.
"Obviously a very difficult night. I thought Lipscomb played very well. They basically were just faster to the ball on the defensive, and then they moved faster and with pace and toughness on the offensive end. I apologize because I got out-coached by Coach Acuff, who I have a tremendous amount of respect for. They played outstanding and we played like a feel good team, meaning a team where if we're making some shots things are pretty good, but if we're not then we can't do anything about it. I think three offensive rebounds tells a story as well. My apologies, we will continue to get better and grow from this."

On what Lipscomb was able to do to find so much success in the second half.
"They did a couple things. One, they were getting some pick and pops. We were supposed to be switching the pick and pops and we did not talk and communicate on that. Then we tried switching our defense and threw all different types of defense at them. We switched everything and then they did a really great job at diving the mismatch in the post. (Jacob) Ognacevic would play against one of our guards and they'd throw it in there and he would go turn and score, and when they did miss, they were just faster to the ball. Maybe a couple tough bounces here or there, but there was maybe three possession in a row that I remember where late in the shot clock the ball comes off, we don't grab it, they do and then they lay it in. They just did a really good job at execution, no matter if we were switching or we were staying or doubling. Again, a great credit to Lipscomb."

On if tonight's loss could be credited to a lack of effort plays.
"No doubt, and that's what's most disappointing. If your shots aren't falling, you have to have even more effort, and I did not see that out of us tonight. I thought Bash (Wieland) played a very good game and played with some toughness and obviously he scored the ball. I thought Garrison Keeslar did as well defensively. Aside from those two, I didn't think we had many guys just moving faster. It's not that complicated. The (Joe) Anderson kid, we knew he was fast but he was just going where he wanted to. (Will) Pruitt is just a physical kid that moves fast. That was really disappointing and again, my apologies for not having our guys more ready to play."

On how the team will respond now with some time off coming up.
"We have to have a couple days off with some studying and some finals, but we will have some spirited practices for sure. We'll be watching on film and it's pretty hard to argue or not look in the mirror, that includes all of us including coaches too, but just see the speed in which they moved on both sides of the ball compared to what we did. I assure you we will be moving faster in practice and be having some spirited practices."

Bash Wieland, Gr.-G
On how frustrating a game like this is for him.
"It's extremely frustrating. Coach touched on it, but just the lack of execution on all of our parts. He mentioned the pick and pops, but also just the lack of communication. They were a very good team, but that's just frustrating because I thought we could have a better effort than that."

On what makes Lipscomb such a tough opponent.
"They run their offense really well, and like Coach said they move very fast. They're very calculated in their actions and when you guard their actions well, they're also willing to drive the ball in the gaps."

On what he'd like to see as a response from this group.
"I'd say competing better. I'd also say offensive rebounding was a big thing. I didn't go to the glass a lot like I should've I'm looking forward to practice and just a high level of competition in practice."
