LAFAYETTE, La. --- Chattanooga fell to California and Louisiana Friday at the 38
th Annual Louisiana Classics hosted by the #21 Ragin' Cajuns. The Mocs lost to the Golden Bears in the opening game 13-6 then couldn't get past Louisiana in the second game, falling 5-2.

Acelynn Sellers and
Kendall Forsythe each drove in a pair of runs while Bailiegh Pitts and
Jayce Purdy accounted for the other two.
With the Mocs down 4-0 after two innings, Sellers put a solo shot over the left field fence to get Chattanooga on the board with two outs in the bottom of the second.
Cal put six more runs up in the third to get out front 10-1, but UTC responded with three in the fourth.
Kaili Phillips led off the bottom of the fourth with a full-count walk. She advanced to second on a wild pitch and made it to third on a ground out.
Kendall Forsythe doubled down the right field line to plate Phillips, making it a 10-2 game.
Reagan Duran came in to pinch run and Sellers walked to put runners at first and second.
Kailey Snell reached on a fielding error by the shortstop to load the bases for
Jayce Purdy who singled up the middle to score Duran for UTC's third run.
Bailiegh Pitts pinch hit for
Camryn Cernuto with bases loaded on two outs. She was awarded first on a pitch time violation by Cal, cutting the lead to 10-4. The Mocs stranded three runners.
Cal added three more runs through the final two innings and Chattanooga scored twice in the bottom of the seventh.
Cernuto walked on four straight pitches to start the inning.
Alyssa Orlando had a pinch hit double to put runners in scoring position. With one out,
Olivia Lipari drew a walk to load the bases.
Forsythe singled through the right side, scoring Cernuto from third. With bases still loaded, Sellers hit a sac fly to right field, scoring Orlando, for the Mocs sixth run of the game.
Sellers was 1-for-1 with two RBI, a home run and a sac fly. Forsythe was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
Riley Lamb got her first start for the Mocs and faced eight batters in her debut.
Peja Goold went the final five innings, facing 20 and striking out three.
#21 LOUISIANA 5, CHATTANOOGA 2
In the second game Friday, the Mocs fell 5-2 to host Louisiana after a stunning 21-2 loss in the opening game Thursday.
Olivia Lipari was 2-for-4 in the later game with a home run and a double.
Camryn Cernuto and Abi Pikas each went 2-for-3 and Cernuto drew a walk.
Louisiana put three runs up quickly in the bottom of the first and it would be the fourth before Chattanooga got on the board.
With one out in the frame, Lipari launched the first pitch over the left centerfield fence to make it a 3-1 game. Chattanooga put three more runners on the bases but stranded the trio on a pinch hit strike out.
The Ragin' Cajuns added runs in the fourth and fifth innings to lead 5-1.
In the Mocs half of the fifth, Sellers led off with a single up the middle but was thrown out on a fielder's choice by Pitts. With a pair of outs, Lipari drove a shot to center field and it hit off the fence. She slid into second and was initially called out. The call was overturned on appeal, but the next at bat ended the Mocs threat.
Chattanooga's sixth run came in the top of the sixth on two outs. Cernuto drew a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Pikas singled to the pitcher and Cernuto made it safely to third. A fielding error put Sellers at first and scored Cernuto to make it 5-2.
Taylor Long went six innings, facing 31 and striking out eight. She gave up seven hits with all five runs earned.
The Mocs takes on New Mexico and California Saturday to close out the classic. Both games will have live stats but no streaming is available.
