STATESBORO, Ga. (March 10, 2024) – The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team suffered a 6-1 defeat to Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Ga., in one of its final two remaining non-conference matches on Sunday afternoon.
Following the defeat, Chattanooga drops to 6-9 overall this season with one non-conference dual remaining before league play begins. Georgia Southern evens its record to 7-7 on the season after the win.
Georgia Southern claimed a 1-0 lead after doubles action before taking five of the six singles matches on Sunday.
Jakub Jupa continued his impressive rookie campaign with a 6-3, 7-6 victory at No. 2 singles to account for the team's lone point.
Chattanooga (6-9) returns to action on Wednesday, March 13, with its final non-conference tilt at North Florida. The first serve is set for 5 p.m. ET in Jacksonville, Fla., with all match coverage links available on the schedule page.
