Sergio Desiante and the 29-time Southern Conference Champion Chattanooga Mocs begin the postseason with the league tournament Saturday.

CHATTANOOGA---March Madness is here not only on the basketball court, but also the wrestling mat. The Chattanooga Mocs head to Boone, N.C., Saturday for the Southern Conference Championships. The Mat Mocs are the winningest program in league history with 29 titles ahead of host Appalachian State and VMI with nine apiece.

NOTES
- 159 individual champs ranks as a SoCon record ahead of App State (119) & VMI (112).
- All champions earn an automatic bid to NCAA Championships. Further allocations at 133 (3), 149 (2) & 165 (2).
- Palmer & Austin Paradice have tournament wins this year: Palmer-Clarion Open (Nov.) & Paradice (App Open-Jan.).
- Palmer won the title at 133 last season. Looking to become first Mocs winner at different classes since Chris Debien '19 won in 2017 (133) & 2019 (141). Could become first back-to-back winner since Bryce Carr '18 at 184 in 2017 & 2018.
- IF Palmer earns a 2nd MOW Award he'd be the 5th Moc to win it twice and first since Cody Cleveland (141) in 2009.
- Castillo was runner-up in 2023 & third in 2022.
- Double-digit wins: Powe (21-2), Boarman (18-4), Desiante (16-7), Munro (15-10), Palmer (13-2), Castillo (12-2) & Austin Paradice (12-5).
