Postgame Quotes

Dan Earl, Head Coach
Overall statement after 75-57 victory over #6 Wofford in the quarters.

"Obviously, proud of the guys. That was a hard-earned win. Can't say enough about Wofford and how hard they play and how hard they are to guard. A lot of guys contributed to the effort tonight. Sam [Alexis] and Jan [Zidek] played great. I'm just so proud of Demetrius Davis. He kept his head up all year and has kept playing. I'm super proud of him and this is what you need in March, guys to step up. He was awesome, but a true team effort across the board."

Demetrius Davis, Sr., F
On season-best performance tonight following a year of adversity.
"It means everything. Coach Earl and my teammates have always told me to keep my head up when I'm shooting. It's what I've been doing all season, staying in the gym trying to find my shot again. It happened to fall tonight."

Honor Huff, So., G
On taking first step in conference tournament:
"You got to take a game-by-game. So this is the first step, but we weren't looking to come here just to win the first step. We want to go in two more and go to that tournament. So, just being locked in this game and obviously get some film quick and lock in against ETSU. It's game-by-game, so now's ETSU step two...let's get to it."

On the bench spark & depth that's made a difference all season:
"If they didn't come again, we wouldn't win. I mean me and Trey obviously, we didn't have our best game today so to be able to rely on Jan to come in and do what he does as 6th Man of the Year. Demetrius really brought it on his birthday. Even as a starter Tyler played great in his minutes & he wasn't feeling too well. He's talking, he's getting the crowd going."

On Chattanooga vs ETSU in Asheville
"I know the fans are probably going crazy right now. It's a tremendous rivalry & even bigger obviously in the tournament. It doesn't get much bigger than that, especially for this rivalry. I know the fans are going to be ecstatic, and I know their fans are going to bring it too."

Sam Alexis, So., F
On getting the first one under the belt:
"It felt great to get the first one under our belt, but you know, we got to focus on the next game. ETSU is playing really good basketball."

On it being Chattanooga-ETSU in the semis:
"It's real exciting that the next step is ETSU, and how special that is for the fans. Just thinking of how special an atmosphere it will be in the arena. Like today, we didn't even play a rival school and there was so much energy from our fans. (ETSU) is gonna come with a lot of energy. Their fans will come with a lot of energy. So, we just got to stay focused & locked in because we got a good fan base here too. It's going to be a crazy atmosphere."
