CHATTANOOGA vs UNC GREENSBORO
The Spartans lead the series 23-4-4 and won the last two matches. In Chattanooga, UNCG is 9-2-2 against the Mocs. UTC's last win over the Spartans was a 1-0 shutout in Greensboro.

LAST TIME THEY MET
Chattanooga 1, UNCG 2 – 10/15/23 | Greensboro, N.C.
The first half was a defensive battle with neither team finding the net and eight shots total between the two. In the second half, UNCG's leading scorer Caroline Woods reentered the game after leaving in the first with an injury. She scored the first goal in the 47th minute and picked up her second a little more than six minutes later, hitting into the far side of the net. UNCG failed to get a foot on the ball in the box to clear it out and
Kennedy Heavrin got it past the keeper and into the bottom right corner to cut the Spartan lead in half. UTC had a couple more chances late in the match but were unable to find the net.
Caroline Richvalsky had four shots (3SOG) for the Mocs and Heavrin had two. UNCG outshot the Mocs 11-7.
Caroline Ekern had three saves including one early in the match that she pushed up to the crossbar

ABOUT CHATTANOOGA (2-5-3, 1-1 SoCon)
The Mocs opened up Southern Conference play with a 2-1 win over Wofford on the road and returned home, falling 1-0 to Samford. In the non-conference, UTC took on Tennessee on the road and hosted Alabama and #15 Xavier. Chattanooga has eight goals on the year with
Caroline Richvalsky scoring four with two game winners.
Zoey Mize has assisted on all four of her goals and is second on the team in scoring with four assists. Four more Mocs have scored a goal while two more have assists.
Caroline Ekern has played every match in the net for UTC and has 36 saves and a .706 save percentage.

ABOUT UNC GREENSBORO (2-5-3, 1-0-1 SoCon)
The Spartans are unbeaten in league play after one week with a 5-1 win over VMI and a 1-1 draw against ETSU. UNCG is currently on a three-game unbeaten streak that includes both SoCon matches and a draw against Liberty for a 1-0-2 current mark. The Spartans shutout Charlotte 1-0 at the start of September and tied UNC Wilmington 1-1 to start the season. UNCG hosted #22 Colorado and gave up just one goal in the loss and fell to East Carolina (2-1), High Point (1-0), Elon (2-1) and Coastal Carolina (2-0). Ava Kiss leads the team with six points on two goals and two assists. Merle Greulich and Taylor Mentzer each have two goals.

Samford's goal came early in the first half off a corner kick. Whitacker Buchanan's pass was headed into the goal by Ella Simpson for what would prove to be the game winner in the 14th minute. The Mocs had a few opportunities to score with shots on goal from freshman
Paige Thomas and sophomore
Carmya Mastrangelo. Each team had seven shots with UTC edging the Bulldogs 5-4 on corner kicks.

Mocs Welcome Alumni Back to Finley
The Mocs welcomed back several former members of the Mocs Soccer teams on September 22. They were honored at halftime and met with the team after the match. UTC celebrates 30 season in 2025.

Junior
Caroline Richvalsky entered the Mocs career records list just halfway through her junior year. She ranks 10th for points (36) and goals (14) and sixth with 140 shots taken over her career.

Ekern Guarding the Goal with Career Numbers
Caroline Ekern took over keeper duties as a freshman. Since then, she has etched her name into the Mocs record books. She is second behind Stacey Matthiessen (30) for most wins with 18, tied with Abbey Saddler at fourth for most shutouts with 11, tied for fith with a 1.23 goals against average and ninth with 144 career saves.

Caroline Richvalsky is tied for sixth in the Southern Conference for goals scored with four on the year. She scored the game winners against Jacksonville State and Wofford. She had the Mocs first goal of the season at Georgia State and scored the equalizer against Tennessee Tech.

Zoey Mize Leads Mocs in Assists, Second in SoCon
Zoey Mize leads UTC with four assists and is tied for second in the Southern Conference. She assisted on the Mocs first goal of the season at Georgia State as well as the game winner at Jacksonville State and Wofford and the equalizer against Tennessee Tech.

Mize, Richvalsky Team Up for Four Goals
Juniors
Caroline Richvalsky and
Zoey Mize have teamed up to lead the Mocs this season. The pair first connected on the Mocs season-opening goal at Georgia State. Mize got her second assist of the season setting up Richvalsky for the game winner at Jacksonville State. The duo once again paired up to score the equalizer against Tennessee Tech at Finley Stadium. In the SoCon opener at Wofford, Mize fed Richvalsky for the game winner against the Terriers.
