Volleyball Extends Win Streak to Six, Defeats Mercer 3-1 on Wednesday Night

The Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team opened the second half of SoCon regular season play with its sixth-straight victory following a four-set winner over Mercer.

CHATTANOOGA (October 22, 2025) — The Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team continued to roll and extended its winning streak to six matches after securing a 3-1 (25-14, 17-25, 26-24, 25-21) victory over Mercer during Southern Conference action on Wednesday night inside Maclellan Gym.

The six-match win streak within SoCon regular season play is the longest for the Chattanooga (13-8, 7-2 SoCon) program in a single season since rattling off nine-straight during the 1999 campaign. It's the fourth-longest such streak in program history while the overall win streak ties the second-longest in a single season (W6 in 2024 & 2015) for the program since a W11 streak earlier in the 2015 campaign.

Quotable
Julie Torbett Thomas, head coach – "While tonight wasn't the cleanest performance, I'm proud of the group for gutting it out and winning our sixth-straight match. It was great to come out on the winning end when you know you didn't play your best volleyball. I'm also super proud of Sydney [Jackwin] for getting her 1,000th career kill tonight. We're super thankful for everything she has brought to Chattanooga volleyball the last two seasons. We'll regroup tonight and rest up for tomorrow night as we get ready for a really tough ETSU team who has yet to lose a SoCon match this season."
