CHATTANOOGA (October 23, 2025) – The Chattanooga Mocs men's and women's tennis programs will join forces this year and host the annual UTC Steve Baras Fall Invite this weekend running from Friday through Sunday at the Champions Club facility in the Rivermont area of Chattanooga.
The men's program has made the fall classic an annual event while the women's program returns to the specific event for the first time since the 2016 fall season. While under the Steve Baras event title, the women's side of the event is technically the annual SoCon Fall Championships.
The men's team is coming off a strong representation at last week's ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships after the doubles team of
Jakub Jupa and
Cortland Grove advanced through to the main draw doubles championship match. The runner-up finish in the doubles event was just the second-ever for the program and greatly enhanced the duo's national status.
Similar to the men's side, the women's team saw their duo post a successful run through the doubles main draw at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals last week.
Rufaro Magarira and
Addison Iacono advanced to the main draw round of 16 after securing wins over tandems from Cincinnati (R64) and Xavier (R32).
Action will kick off early morning each day of the event and run towards sunset. Full draws, results and schedules will be completed and updated at the Steve Baras Invite ITA homepage located at the link
HERE.
