CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (October 3, 2025) — The Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team suffered a 3-1 (25-18, 21-25, 25-18, 25-14) defeat to UNC Greensboro during Southern Conference action inside Maclellan Gym on Friday evening in Chattanooga.

Match Flow – First Set
UNCG quickly responded from early UTC momentum, capitalizing on a pair of attack errors to help build a 6-2 lead in their favor. Chattanooga struggled to find their rhythm, as UNCG's Allie Sweet led with multiple kills, assisted by Gabby Seeds. A late push by the Mocs narrowed the gap with a service ace from
Ashley Reynolds making it 24-18, but UNCG secured the set 25-18 with a kill by Connore' Siler-Nixon.
Second Set
In the second set, Chattanooga overcame an early deficit against UNCG, who initially built a 6-1 lead with McKenna Timmerman and Robin Rosser contributing key kills. Chattanooga responded with a series of points, highlighted by a service ace from
Kynli Kirkendoll and a critical block by
Kendyl MacAskill and Laila N'Diaye to tie the score at 16-16.
Sydney Jackwin then played a pivotal role in UTC's comeback, delivering multiple kills to push the home team into the lead. The set concluded with
Gracie Rose securing the final point on a kill to give Chattanooga a 25-21 victory in the set.
Third Set
The early stages saw a back-and-forth exchange, highlighted by kills from UTC's
Kendyl MacAskill and
Bailey Burgess. Allie Sweet was instrumental for UNCG, registering multiple kills and contributing to a 5-0 run that pushed the Spartans lead to 15-9.
Despite a brief rally from the Mocs, including service aces from
Sydney Jackwin and
Elena Vukmanov, UNCG maintained control through the frame. UNCG ultimately walked away with a 25-18 set victory and a 2-1 lead in the match.
Fourth Set
Allie Sweet led UNCG's offensive efforts in the fourth set while Chattanooga responded with an offensive attack from
Kynli Kirkendoll to help keep things tight in the early stages. UNCG gained momentum mid-set, capitalizing on aces from both Allie Sweet and Robin Rosser, pushing the visitor's lead to 15-8.
Despite efforts from
Kendyl MacAskill, who contributed multiple kills for Chattanooga, UNCG maintained control, closing the set and match with a 25-14 victory. The win for the Spartans snapped a six-match skid against the Mocs.
