JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's soccer team earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Southern Conference rival East Tennessee State Sunday afternoon at Summers-Taylor Stadium in Johnson City.

Freshman
Quinn Johnson opened the scoring for Chattanooga in the 25th minute, netting her second goal in as many games to give the Mocs an early lead. She entered the left top of the box and sent a shot past a charging ETSU keeper with the defense closing in on each side to put the Mocs up 1-0.

ETSU responded just seven minutes later, leveling the match at 1-1. That score held through the final whistle.

The Mocs outshot the Bucs 10-7, including a 4-1 edge in shots on goal and a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks. Johnson,
Caroline Richvalsky,
Carmya Mastrangelo and
Paige Thomas each had two shots.

With the draw, Chattanooga moves to 8-3-3 overall and 2-1-2 in SoCon play. ETSU remains unbeaten in conference action at 3-0-2 and improves to 8-2-4 on the season while running its unbeaten streak to 10 games.

The Mocs remain on the road to take on The Citadel Friday, Oct. 10 in Charleston, S.C.
