First Look
The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team is just six shots out of the lead at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate. The ladies fired a 2-under 282 today at Cherokee Country Club for a 36-hole total of 569 (+1). That's just six strokes behind the leader, Oregon State, and three shy of host Tennessee in second at 566. Penn State is fourth with 571 while Charlotte rounds out the top five with 574.
 
Breakdown

• Chattanooga was 4 over through 12 holes. Played the final six at 6 under for a 2-under 282.
• Shot 2 under on the par 4 13th and 3 under on the par 5 16th. The counters were also under par on 18 (-1) while playing even par on 14, 15 and 17.
• Giulia Foresta was magnificent with four birdies against just two bogeys. Her 2 under day shot her 24 spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 24th.
• Freshman Olivia Wood followed her opening round 71 with a 70. She's tied for 11th at 1 under.
• Kera Healey also posted a red number with her own 70. She's tied in 16th with teammate Violeta Fernandez-Tagle at level par (142).
• Fernandez-Tagle shot 73 today to close the team ledger ahead of Chloe Stevenazzi's 75 which was the drop score. Fernandez-Tagle birdies 16 & 18 to squeeze by Stevenazzi to the counter.
• 569 is the 3rd-best 36-hole total in school history. It's nine strokes better than the previous low at Cherokee Country Club set in 2019 (289-289) and matched in 2021 (288-290).
• It's the lowest since the record 564 (-4) was matched at the 2024 Spring Break Shootout. The original was in the 2015 Fall Invite win which is the lowest vs par at 12 under.
• 1 over through 36 holes as a team is tied for the 4th-lowest score vs par with the 577 at the 2014 Web.com Intercollegiate.
• 282 ties for the sixth-lowest total over 18 holes for the program and is the 16th par or better tally in its history.
