Postgame Quotes - North Alabama

2025-26 Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Quotes
Game 6 vs. North Alabama | November 22, 2025
McKenzie Arena | Chattanooga, Tenn.

Dan Earl, Head Coach
Opening thoughts after 71-57 win over North Alabama.
"It was definitely another positive step in the process, especially on both sides of the ball, but I thought we've done a much better job on the defensive end over the past two games. I was proud of the guys for really competing tonight. You can see in the first half that we missed a ton of shots and we stuck with it, kept shooting the open ones, and didn't force anything. We also got the ball down low and made some good decisions on when to get the ball to the basket. So overall, it was a good win and a step in the right direction."

On the process and confidence.
"Yeah, that's a great point. It helps a lot, right? I was just talking to Billy [Smith] walking over here. He should be comfortable and confident nearly all the time. He knows he's a great shooter and we do too. The reality is, it helps to see the ball go in the basket to really help confidence, right? And similarly, we should be confident in our abilities and what we're doing as a program, but it's just good to see some shots fall and come out feeling a win. And to be honest with you, it's been a rough stretch to start the season. I've been on the guys pretty hard, I haven't done a great job realizing that we have nine new players and it's going to take time. So I've tried to adjust, but it's good to see you a smile on the guys faces, and get some wins. We all know it's going to be a long process, but it is good to see their confidence building."

Billy Smith, Gr.-G
On tonight's stellar shooting effort.
"Yeah. I'm obviously confident in myself and my game, but it's been a slow and tough shooting stretch to start the year. It just makes it so much easier when you have these type of guys and coaches around you, encouraging you to shoot and to stay with it. It's so nice to be around people like that and it helps creating so much more confidence.
