CHATTANOOGA (February 8, 2025) – The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team found themselves back in the win column after securing a convincing 5-2 decision over non-conference opponent Eastern Kentucky on Saturday afternoon outside at the UTC Tennis Center on campus.
 
Chattanooga (2-5) has now won two of its last three matches following the victory over EKU (3-8). The Mocs kicked off the match with the doubles point after seeing wins at No. 3 (6-1) with Cortland Grove and Kristof Kincses and No. 1 (6-3) with Jakub Jupa and Gabriel Castillo.
 
In singles, Ryan Mudre posted a 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 2 hole before Kincses earned a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 5 to put Chattanooga ahead 3-0 in the match. Ethan Carr provided the match-clinching fourth point with a 6-2, 7-6 (6) winner at the No. 6 slot.
 
The fifth point for the Mocs came from the play of Grove at No. 4 after the junior posted a 6-7 (6), 6-1, 10-5 comeback victory. Chattanooga has now won eight of its 10 all-time meetings against EKU in series history.
