CHATTANOOGA (March 23, 2025) – The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team went down to the wire with Mercer before eventually falling 4-3 during Southern Conference action on a sunny Sunday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Center on campus.
 
Chattanooga (10-9, 1-2 SoCon) has now dropped its last two league matches after opening with a road win at The Citadel last weekend. Mercer (6-6, 1-0 SoCon) evens its overall record and opens its SoCon slate with a 1-0 record after the victory.
 
The Bears claimed the early doubles point after claiming wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 tandems while the No. 1 UTC duo of Jakub Jupa and Gabriel Castillo closed with a 7-6 (5) win. Tied 3-3 in the match after back-and-forth action at singles, Mercer earned the deciding fourth point with a hard-earned 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win in the No. 3 slot.
