SoCon Tournament Semifinal Round

Deandra Schirmer, Head Coach
Opening statement after Friday's semifinal win.
"I want to say what a gutsy performance from both teams, I thought Furman played so hard and they had strung together a bunch of good games, and we knew they were going to be a tough opponent. We were locked in on how talented they are, and we knew we had to be on our game to win today. For us, to be able to respond in a manner that wasn't easy, we had to get it the tough way. We had to rely on everyone, and we've been preaching that all season. There's no better time to show it than the conference tournament."
On moving forward.
"The biggest thing right now is to keep this belief and understanding that if we stay together and stick to the game plan, we can do this thing. It's really about getting back to the basics. We will rest our legs tonight and tomorrow morning we'll be back on film and get back to scout, to practice. I think our girls have shown the maturity that we'll be locked in every game."
Frode Flos van der Schans, F/C-R-So.
On today's clutch performance.
"Every game I'm going to give it my all. For the coaches to have so much belief in me, I was ready for the moment because I knew my coaches were ready."
Caia Elisaldez, G-So.
On the team's identity.
"I don't think there's anything special. This team has special pieces in one through thirteen, the coaches, everyone on the support staff. We're not going to try and be someone we're not. We're UTC and I wouldn't trade this team for the world."
Karsen Murphy, G/F-Sr.
On shooting with confidence.
"I just have this confidence in myself. It's win or go home so why not shoot the ball? I have shot a million threes in my life so why not rely on all that experience and hard work."
