Chloe Stevenazzi and the Chattanooga Mocs take on the field at the Liz Murphey Collegiate this week in the final tune up prior to the Southern Conference Championships.
First Look: The Chattanooga Mocs are in Athens, Ga., this week for the Liz Murphey Collegiate at UGA Golf Course. The event starts with a 36-hole, 2-round Tuesday before closing with a final 18 on Wednesday.
It's the final start of the regular season for the Mocs before heading to South Carolina next week for the Southern Conference Championships. The Liz Murphey field includes 12 teams headlined by (34) Oklahoma, (35) Georgia Southern, (48) Alabama and the host, Georgia.
Chattanooga is led by sophomore Violeta Fernandez-Tagle's 73.00 scoring average. She is joined this week by junior Kera Healey (74.46), sophomore Giulia Foresta (74.96), junior Makenzie Cooper (76.00) and freshman Chloe Stevenazzi (79.69). Senior Nieves Martin (78.43) is playing as an individual.

Notes
- The Mocs are making their second trip to the Liz Murphey Collegiate. The last was in 2011 when a different scoring system was used. The tournament was best ball for each hole so the top four scores for a particular hole counted with all five team members playing together in the same group.
- Healey has dropped her season scoring by nearly half a stroke over three spring events. Played the fall at 74.92 and is currently second on the team with 74.43 strokes per 18.
- Fernandez-Tagle, Kera Healey & Giulia Foresta have started every tournament of their Chattanooga careers.
- Fernandez-Tagle is currently vying for two scoring records. Her 72.62 mark for the season is just 0.09 behind Dorota Zalewska's 72.53 set in 2021-22. V's 72.70 average in 54 career cards is 2.84 shots ahead of Emma de Groot's 74.54 as she nears the midpoint of her career.
