Women’s Basketball Signs Southern Idaho’s Falon Bedke

Bedke joins the Mocs after helping to guide the Golden Eagles to a 2025 Scenic West Athletic Conference regular season title.

CHATTANOOGA --- Chattanooga women's basketball continued to round out the team's roster ahead of the 2025-26 season, when head coach Deandra Schirmer announced the signing of Southern Idaho transfer Falon Bedke on Wednesday.

Bedke joins the Mocs following a pair of seasons playing for the Golden Eagles under head coach Randy Rogers. While there, Bedke proved to be an anchor for Southern Idaho at the center position, playing in a total of 62 games and making 19 starts across her freshman and sophomore campaigns. The Oakley, Idaho, native also played a role in CSI's 2025 Scenic West Athletic Conference regular season title this past year.

"Falon will be a great addition to our team," Schirmer said. "Not only does she bring size but she is a high character individual with a very strong work ethic. Coming from a nationally ranked JUCO, she has played against tough levels of competition and has seen what it takes to be an impact player at a successful program.

"I can't wait for Mocs Nation to see how hard she plays and get to know how amazing of a person she is. Falon is the type of player I get really excited to coach."

Bedke saw an uptick in her playing time for the 2024-25 season, playing in all 31 of CSI's games while making 17 total starts on the year. Averaging 15.2 minutes/game, Bedke ended her season having tallied 113 points (3.7 points/game) and 133 rebounds (4.3 rebounds/game) alongside 23 steals, 15 blocks and seven assists.

With Bedke's 6-foot-1 frame holding down the five spot for the Golden Eagles, Southern Idaho was able to wrap up the 2024-25 season with a 23-8 record including an 11-4 record playing in the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC). This was good enough for the Golden Eagles to take home the 2025 SWAC regular season championship.

In her two seasons at Southern Idaho, Bedke has also been a standout in the classroom having raked in NJCAA First Team All-Academic and CSI President's List honors, both of which are presented to individuals that have maintained perfect 4.0 GPAs over the course of a school year.

Prior to committing to the College of Southern Idaho, Bedke spent four years playing at Oakley High School where she helped guide the Hornets to a 61-37 (.623) record during her varsity playing career. A three-time All-Conference All Star Team selection, Bedke led Oakley to a 2023 IDHSAA Class 1A State Runner-Up finish to wrap up her senior season.

Bedke's senior campaign was full of honors, including being named an Idaho 1A/2A Senior All Star Player as well as a District 4 Senior All Star Player. She also was awarded the IDHSAA's State Tournament Defensive MVP award in 2023 after propelling the Hornets to the state title game that year. Bedke was also a standout on Oakley's varsity volleyball team, where she was a two-time Idaho All-State Team honoree.

Born August 15, 2005, Falon is the daughter of Will and Susanne Bedke. She also has two older siblings: Braden and Aubryn. Will (father) played three years of college football— one at Walla Walla CC, one at Blue Mountain CC and one at Utah State. Braden (brother) and Aubryn (sister) also competed on college rodeo teams for Central Arizona College and South Plains College, respectively.

Like her siblings, Falon herself has also competed in rodeo events her whole life having grown up on her family's ranch. She intends to major in business while attending UTC.
