Mocs celebrate Reese Wilson's goal in the 86th minute against Wofford.
Box Score CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs women's soccer team kicked off their Southern Conference schedule emphatically Thursday, securing a 4-0 shutout victory against Wofford at Finley Stadium. The win extends the Mocs' start to the season, bringing their overall record to 7-2-1 and 1-0 in conference play. Wofford moves to 3-5-3 overall and 0-1 in league action.

The Mocs' offense exploded for four goals, withÂ
EG Dillard opening the scoring early in the first half at the 4:06 mark.
Caroline Richvalsky was swarmed at the top of the box and sent a quick pass to her right to Dillard who fired off a shot into the bottom right corner of the box to put the Mocs up 1-0.

Richvalsky picked up her goal later in the half. She came into the box from right to left and her shot hit off the base of the far post, bouncing out. However, the Terriers were unable to corral the shot and it made its way back and crossed the line to make it 2-0 in the 28
th minute.

Chattanooga held that lead into intermission and outshot Wofford 11-1 in the opening frame.

Zoey Mize picked up a pair of assists in the second half as the Mocs extended its lead with a pair of goals for the 4-0 win.

Nicole Solete added a third goal to the Mocs tally with her second of the season. Mize sent a pass into the box that was moved on to the far side with a touch from
Emma Reeves. Solete was there to pick it up in stride and her shot found the bottom left corner in the 72
nd minute.

The game was all but decided when
Reese Wilson headed in the final goal off a corner kick in the 86
th minute. Mize sent her corner kick into the box and Wilson headed in the shot form about 10 yards out into the top right corner.

The shutout was the fifth of the season for Chattanooga. Keeper
Caroline Ekern earned her 30
th career victory, tying Stacey Mattheissen ('07) for the program lead. Ekern is the career leader for clean sheets with 19.

Chattanooga outshot the Terriers 22-3 with 11 more shots in the second half. Richvalsky fired off five shots with four on target while
Paige Thomas and
Nicole Solete registered three apiece and two on goal.
