First Look
The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team finished the first tournament of the 2025-26 season Monday at the Wolverine Invitational. The Mocs shot 302 to close out the event in 12th place with a 909 total. They ended up just four shots shy of the top 10 with the ninth-place trio of Wisconsin, USF and Rutgers just ahead at the University of Michigan Golf Club in Ann Arbor.
Breakdown
- Today's 302 was the low round of the three for the Mocs. It was a consistent effort with 303 and 304 on the team cards over the first two rounds Sunday.
- For the third straight round, a different Moc claimed the lead among their teammates. Today it was junior Giulia Foresta with 73, the low card of the event for a Moc. Makenzie Cooper shot 75, one better than Violeta Fernandez-Tagle's 76. Kera Healey added 78 to the counters with Olivia Wood one off at 79.
- Cooper and Wood shared low honors for the tournament with matching 228s. That was one better than Healey and two clear of Fernandez-Tagle.
- 22 birdies on the counting cards led by Wood's eight.

The ladies are off until Sept. 19-21 brings the annual trip to Franklin, Tenn., for Vanderbilt's Mason Rudolph Championships. The 3-day, 54-hole event brings a star-studded field every year to the Vandy Legends Club. The tournament is once again slated to tackle the North Course.
