How it Happened
ETSU scored the first six points of the match, before stretching out an early 10-1 lead. Chattanooga started to settle in with kills from Ashley Reynolds and Gracie Rose to cut the Bucs lead to seven. ETSU hammered back though pushing the lead to 10 points at 17-7 after a kill by Karis Chatfield. Later on, three straight attack errors for the Bucs put UTC within six points at 23-17. However, two kills for the Bucs ended things at 25-18 and gave them a 1-0 advantage.

The second set was tight at the beginning as a kill from Elena Vukmanov put the score at 9-9. However, a 9-3 ETSU, with the help of two service aces, pushed the away side ahead 18-12. Chattanooga then cut the lead to three points at 19-16 after a kill from Delaney Wingenbach and a Bucs error. ETSU gained back momentum though, extending its lead on its way to another 25-18 win to go up 2-0.

A service ace by Reynolds gave the Mocs an early lead in the third set, which was 4-2. As the set progressed, the score remained close as another UTC service ace, this one from Caiti Barthel made it 13-11. ETSU took back the lead shortly afterwards at 15-14 on a kill from Makayla Bays. Later on a 7-2 ETSU run gave it a comfortable six-point lead at 22-16. Chattanooga got within three points at 23-20 and 24-21, however another kill from Bays ended the set at 25-21 to give ETSU the 3-0 sweep.

Postgame Quote
Julie Torbett Thomas Head Coach
On tonight's performance

"Well, the scores don't show any difference, but I do think it was better volleyball. We hit almost .300 as a team. We've just got to find more kills. So they out-killed us by 13, which is a lot. Our defense, we made some adjustments, and it didn't pan out today, but I think in the long run it will help.

On tonight's crowd

"I was overall more than pleased, given the weather and stuff. I appreciate everyone still coming out. So I thought we had a good crowd, and thanks goes out to all the staff and everyone that pitched in."
