How it Happened
The Spartans raced out to a 7-3 lead to gain momentum in the first set. Later on, a 5-0 run by UNCG, with all the points being kills, pushed its lead to double-digits at 16-6. Chattanooga did not give up though as later on three points in a row, capped off by a kill from Ashley Reynolds put the score at 22-18. Chattanooga kept climbing the mountain as four straight points, including three UNCG attack errors, all of a sudden put UTC at set point at 25-24. However, the home side responded with three straight points to win 27-25 and go up 1-0.

With the score reading 5-5 in the second set, UNCG scored six points in a row, capped off by a service ace to go up 11-5. Chattanooga started to get closer as a team block made it 12-9. UTC wouldn't gain any more ground though as the Spartans soon pushed their lead back up to six points at 17-11. UNCG was in control the rest of the way as its lead reached double digits at 23-12 before back-to-back kills ended things at 25-14 and put it ahead 2-0.

Chattanooga took the lead at 10-8 in the third set after consecutive kills from Kynli Kirkendoll and Elena Vukmanov. After UNCG briefly took the lead, UTC went back ahead at 16-14 thanks to a pair of service aces from Reynolds and a kill by Delaney Wingenbach. Two more kills from Kirkendoll saw UTC go up 20-16 and 21-17. The Chattanooga lead reached five points on a Gracie Rose kill before the Spartans battled back with five straight points to tie things at 22. As the set finished, two consecutive UTC attack errors gave the Spartans the 25-23 win to clinch the sweep.
