CHATTANOOGA (February 13, 2026) – The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team dropped a tough 4-3 battle to Kennesaw State during a marathon of a non-conference match at the UTC Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
 
After the defeat, Chattanooga drops to 0-3 to begin the 2026 spring season. Kennesaw State improved to 4-2 following Friday's victory.
 
Match Recap
Kennesaw State's Dominic Ducariu and Anthony Weingarten secured a 6-2 victory over Julian Franzmann and Kristof Kincses at No. 2 doubles to earn early momentum. KSU's Xavi Ferrer and Nathan Walters followed with a 7-6 (7) win against Jaxon Lamb and Carter Ramthun at No. 3 to clinch the team point while Ben Hudson and Leon Peranovic and Cortland Grove and Jakub Jupa went unfinished tied 6-6.
 
In singles, UTC responded with a win at No. 1 as Jupa defeated Hudson 6-2, 7-5, to tie the match 1-1. However, Kennesaw State jumped ahead 2-1 in the match after Peranovic defeated Martin Delnido, 6-2, 7-5, in the No. 3 slot. The Mocs tied the match yet again following Grove's 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 victory over Ducariu on court No. 4.
 
Chattanooga grabbed a 3-2 lead when Franzmann prevailed over Weingarten in three sets, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2, at the No. 2 pairing before Kennesaw State leveled the match after a Ferrer 6-2, 6-7 (2-7), 7-5 victory over TJ Ryerson at No. 6. The match concluded in nail-biting fashion when Walters earned a long 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 7-6 (9-7) tiebreak victory over Kincses at the No. 5 position.
