Breakdown

• The Mocs opened with 291 (+3). Erin Wells led with 70 followed by Makenzie Cooper's 71. Kera Healey added 72 as Rugile Pauliukonyte tallied 78. Bella Bugg had the drop with 83 after an obscure 8-stroke penalty post-round turned 288 into 291.
• The second round 286 was also powered by two under-par scores. Wells shaved a number to 69 with Bugg adding 71. Cooper and Healey both carded 73s.
• Wells is in the top 10. She's tied in ninth at 5-under 139. She's four off the pace set by Mariana Mesones (Minnesota) and Noa van Beek (Kansas State).
• Wells was phenomenal carding 2-under 70 in her fourth career round and followed with a personal best 69. She had nine birdies for the day.
• Wells played the par 4s at 5 under which ties for the second lowest score.
• The counting cards had 11 first round birdies and 15 in round two along with an eagle. Back-to-back tourneys with 26 birdies over the first two team scores.
• Healey's par or better card in round one is the 17th of her career. That matches 2016 SoCon Champ Megan Woods '18 for 10th in school history.
• Cooper's first round 71 and 36-hole 144 (E) are season bests for the senior playing in her home state this week.
• 286 is the low team 18 of the season while 577 is the second-best total for 36 but best by par at 1 over. Lowest since 4-under 564 at the Spring Break Shootout on March 18-19, 2024.
