NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 27, 2026) — The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team extended its winning streak to six matches following a dominating 7-0 road shutout victory over in-state foe Belmont on Friday evening during non-conference action at the Ensworth Tennis Center in Nashville.
 
Chattanooga improves to 8-1 on the season behind its longest win streak (W6) since 2023. Belmont drops to 1-7 overall this season following the defeat.
 
Team Notables

• Chattanooga improves to 8-1... best start to a season since an 11-1 start in 2023.
• The six-match win streak marks the longest since eight-straight wins during the 11-1 start to the 2023 season.
• Third 7-0 shutout victory of the season… third-straight season with at least three 7-0 shutouts… four total shutouts this season (W, 4-0 vs. EMU).

 
Match Recap
In doubles, Savannah Presson and Emma Pedretti kicked things off with a 6-2 win at No. 2 against Mia Jones and Cielo Tapia-Cruz. Ella Mancuso and Jordan Fenton put Chattanooga ahead 1-0 with a quality 6-3 winner on court No. 3 over Ketevan Jeladze and Emma Grant.
 
In singles, the Mocs maintained their momentum and took a 2-0 lead as Pedretti opened with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 4 against Jeladze. Iacono extended the lead to 3-0 following a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) victory at No. 1 over Webster before Presson added the match-clinching point at No. 3, defeating Tapia-Cruz 6-1, 7-5.
 
Zara Burns extended the lead with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) win at No. 5 against Libbie Hamilton while Magarira claimed a three-set win at No. 2, overcoming Jones 7-5, 5-7, 10-2 to keep the shutout alive. Fenton completed the sweep at No. 6 with a 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(7) victory over Grant.
